How To Maximize Your PCMAV Antivirus

I was post PCMAV 1.3 release yesterday. Included the download link. But, some of my reader still confusing how to maximize their PCMAV. May be you too.

I know it is not easy to answer. All you have to do is just combine double engine between PCMAV and Clamav. Clamav have the great engine with total number of signature more than 285.000 virus signatures. And the good news, you can get it from me. I’ve just insert the clamav engine to the pcmav folder that you can download it below. You can get it your self. But, you have to download Clam Win 0.93 (Antivirus Clam Software with size 19.5Mb). That’s to big and wasting time. Besides that, you need to installed that Clam Win to you computer, find the bin folder where you install this software and get some file needed.

This file clamav engine’s really important, because it will make your PCMAV performance get better and faster than before. Only works if you combine it between pcmav 1.3 and clam engine 0.93.



Here are the files: - libclamav.dll - libclamunrar.dll - libclamunrar_iface.dll

That’s it. Nothing needed. Just added with clamav update main.cvd and daily cvd, included the file above. Then, insert or place it on your PCMAV folder. Done. Double Click your PCMAV RTP and check it. How much total number of virus signatures detected? Should be more than 285.000 virus signatures. Done.

Download file Clamav Engine 0.93 only.

Don’t forget to download 2 Clamav Update below and intergrated or place it to PCMAV Folder.

    Tapi PCMAV nya ngga mau pake Engine CLAMAV 0.93

    mas, kok database clamav yang di upload di blog ini masih menggunakan main.cvd tgl 6 April 2008 dan daily.cvd tgl 20 Mei 2008?
    padahal yang versi 23 Juni 2008 kan udah ada kalo gak salah, trus daily.cvd itu kan tiap hari ada update nya. klo bisa blog ini terus di update deh mas, thanks
    o ya mau nanya juga, bisa nggak apetin update terbaru dari pcmav melalui email? thanks atas bantuannya.

    Klo daily.cvd kan bisa didapetin langsung di clamav.net. Masa’ harus terus saya yg update. Kan bisa ambil langsung sendiri. Klo update terbaru pcmav via email, saya hanya memberi infonya saja. Tidak mengirimkan filenya.

    o ya, aku dah coba pcmav 1.4 update build 1 dan clamav terbaru. waktu scan jalan, ada pesan virus suspected (RD) , tapi gak bisa dibersihin, masalahnya ada pesan ‘please submit this file to pcmedia for further analysis’
    itu maksudnya apaan ya mas?

    Maksudnya itu file dicurigai sebagai virus, dan diminta untuk di kirimkan ke pcmedia untuk di analisa. Itu klo memang berkenan dan ada waktu. Klo mau, harus di kirim dalam bentuk file kompresi zip dan diberikan password. Beritahukan juga passwordnya ke redaksi pcmedia. Semua via email. Klo Gak salah emailnya redaksi@pcmedia.co.id
